About the role

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Shopmonkey, you will be a crucial part of delivering new and innovative technology solutions. You will be a part of a new Inventory team and work closely with other engineers, product, and design.

The task of the team will be to make the inventory as a separate independent module. On the backend side, it is to move the logic from the monolith to a separate microservice and redesign the monolith and other services that need data from this module.

In the future, the inventory is planned to be actively developed and expanded.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Develop production quality code and deploy that code to the cloud
• Improve the overall quality and performance of code
• Build a world-class modern product for an industry full of outdated technology
• Be a part of the product discussion and lead technical discussions
• Participate in architectural discussions
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Be a mentor and coach to engineers that are less experienced
• Be a part of the technical interview panel and help us build out an inclusive and diverse team

We’re looking for you if you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent field
• A cross-functional team player with a high EQ and ambiguity
• 5+ years of experience with Javascript
• 3+ years of experience with Typescript
• 3+ years of experience with Node.JS
• Knowledge of system design and design patterns
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL databases, ElasticSearch
• Preferably located in Kyiv

Bonus Points:

• Huge plus if you have experience with working with international teams,
• Experience with Redis databases, Kafka (additionally Connect API, Streams API)
