We are looking for an experienced Software Development Competence Manager to join our professional team.

Software development Office is working with professional development of engineers, technical excellence of projects and establishes expertise availability across the company. 

Duties:

• Establishes and enforces engineering best practices company-wide
• Establishes expert groups, maintains, manages, and reorganizes these expert groups according to the company’s business needs
• Establishes and maintains general qualification standards (competence models) for all levels of the engineers 
• Maintains and improves the qualification process for recruiting external candidates for the engineering positions
• Develops engineering community by running tech-talks, mentorships, presentations, workshops, blogs, webcasts, and conferences
• Participates in the industry-recognized conferences dedicated to engineering and represents the company’s best expertise in the area
• Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of the software development training programs, covering the best industry practices, frameworks, tools, and concepts
• Performs project assessments with a set of defined engineering practices
• Creates and maintains the expert network for presales activities: estimations, PoC, discovery phase, customer consulting

Specialized knowledge:

• Understanding of software development company functioning and offshore software development specifics
• Understanding Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and software development life cycles
• 3+ years of experience in application design and development
• Extensive experience applying architectural tactics and patterns on different projects
• Proficient knowledge of design patterns, design approaches, and concepts
• Proficient knowledge of software quality metrics 
• Proficient knowledge of coding/testing best practices
• Proficient knowledge of at least one service and continuous delivery pipeline
