A state investment and energy company with headquarters in Doha, Qatar, est. in 2013, is looking for a CEO for its newly-formed Ukraine Business. Apply today to lead the implementation of an ambitious plan to invest $250 mln within the next 2 years. 

Company sector: renewable energy, investments, power development, power generation.

The incumbent will be responsible for the overall Executive Management and Corporate affairs, including:

• establishing and leading the business compliance with relevant business plans, strategies, laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards;
• managing all the strategic, investment, operational and financial matters of the Business in Ukraine; 
• developing and implementing the road map for the implementation of the strategy formulated by the Boards of Directors in communication and coordination with the Group CEO in Doha;
• devising means to achieve business objectives, including formulating the business plan and policies and procedures.

Dimensions of essential duties of the CEO:

Strategy implementation:

• Define the road map for the implementation of the strategy formulated by the Boards of Directors of companies that belong to the Ukraine Business and align it with the strategy of the global group of companies;
• Ensure effective implementation of this strategic road map by the companies that are part of the Ukraine Business.

Investment Management: 

• Supervise the overall investment performance of the Ukraine Business; 
• Identify potential for performance improvement, identify and assess key risks and propose mitigation strategies;
• Actively oversee the asset management functions, including monitoring and reporting, as well as the transfer of new assets into the Business.

Financial Management:

• Supervise the overall financial management of the Business including compliance with the relevant tax treaties and ensure that robust financial processes are established and maintained and effective financial management is delivered.

Business Development:

• Recommend the strategic objectives for Business Development for Ukraine and propose specific business development actions and initiatives;
• Ensure the effective organization and implementation of such business development initiatives in Ukraine;  
• Ensure the achievement of the business growth objectives set for Ukraine, in line with the overall growth strategy and business plan.

Compliance:

• Establish and maintain a robust compliance framework across all the investment portfolio.
• Ensure adherence to Group policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.

Board affairs:

• Ensure that shareholders meetings and board affairs of the companies that are part of Ukraine Business are effectively managed;
• Ensure effective communication between the Board of Directors of the companies that are part of Ukraine Business and the Executive Management of the Group.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Finance and/or Business Administration and similar or MBA (preferred);
• Superior analytical and synthesis skills;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to different cultures;
• Ability to build trust and effective personal relations both within the organization and with all relevant internal and external stakeholders;
• High energy with a “can do” mentality. Strongly believe in continuous benchmarking and continuous improvement; 
• Drive, self-reliance and pragmatism, great determination in achieving results;
• Capability to easily adapt to fast-moving, changing environments and cultural differences;
• English - advanced, Arabic speaker preferred.
